Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Way to Pop
I bought this stove-top popcorn maker because of all the great reviews it received on Amazon. I was not disappointed!

After burning my favorite Visionware pot every time I popped corn, I knew I had to try something else that would increase the volume and decrease the widows. Well, the Whirley-Pop does just that. Hardly any widows, don't have to use gobs of oil, and the process takes under 5 minutes.

I really love that this product is manufactured here in USA and not in China. This is an American product that represents the best of our country. Sturdy, efficient, dependable, and it get's the job done.

Plus, if you register the product, you actually get a thank you gift which includes tips for popping corn and a theatre popcorn kit. A very nice touch!

Here at www.SanDiegoTravelTips.com, we love to snack on our popcorn while we are answering questions from folks who want to come to San Diego.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great popper
I've had this popper for 8 years and have loved it. It made the combination of household purge when I remarried. It wasn't even an issue because my wife loves it too. I'm writing this review now as I'm shopping online for a Christmas gift for my step-daughter in college. She has asked for one for the past 3 months.

Unless the newly produced ones are of lesser quality, I don't understand the bad reviews (rare as they are)I have read at Amazon. This is as simple to operate as about any popper I've ever used. If you overfill it or fail to crank, you can get bad results, but that isn't the popper's fault. I don't measure most of the time and still get great popcorn.

I highly recommend this popper to anyone who apprecitates great popcorn. If mine ever wears out, I'll get another without hesitation.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Made Cheaply
I have used the popper for 5 years..I am on my 3rd one, or should I say I am throwing out my 3rd one ! The plastic gear which enables the handle to turn melts like a 2 cents Made In China piece of junk ..
Also, their popcorn has a very limited shelf life and goes stale in no time..The product used to be better...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Makes great popcorn
This is the third Whirley-Pop Stovetop Popcorn Popper. Through no fault of the popper, it's had to be replaced two time, as I left it on the stove, thinking it would be ok for several minutes - only I forgot about it.

The first one we purchased lasted for 20 years, and at the end, it was making the same, great tasting popcorn that it did originally. The popcorn is light and fluffy. All kernels will pop, if the instructions are followed.

My only recommendation is to use walnut oil in the popper, instead of more generic oils. It adds just a small bit of flavor, and in my opinion, reduces the needed amount of salt sprinkled on the cooked popcorn.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - When I moved to Italy, I brought this with me!
When I moved to Italy last year I packed this carefully as I knew I'd never find one over here. It simply makes GREAT popcorn! I use a little olive oil and even the generic popcorn I find in the local store comes out great! We eat popcorn a few times a week. Now I have a friend that wants one, so I'm ordering it for my brother-in-law to bring over in his luggage when he visits for New Year's. It makes even mediocre corn taste great...so much easier than shaking a pan, and much tastier than air-popped. One of the reviews said the top has a 25-year guarantee. I don't know about that, but just treat it gently and you shouldn't have any problems.

Budget bigshots bin bleeding-edge barrelroll bid

US military crazytech chiefs have cancelled the planned "Blackswift" Mach-6 runway aeroplane, following an almost complete cutoff of funding by Congress.…

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

LONDON (Reuters) - Governments across the world moved on Monday to shore up confidence in the tottering global financial system with a slew of bank bailouts worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

As the Storage Networking World conference opens in Dallas this week, it's likely that the recent stock market and financial sector upheavals will have attendees more interested than ever in cost savings.
