Rating: - Wonderful chocolate, but...
I love chocolate, LOVE IT! In all forms and types, and a long time ago I found truffles that looked and tasted just like these! From other reviews I have learned that this is the same type of truffle sold under different names. I was so happy to find the truffles I've been looking for for YEARS.
However, I was stripped to nothing because of their shipping prices. I got two boxes, and the shipping was half again the cost of the item itself! Now, for a chocolate lover lusting for the truffles she had so long ago, the money was worth it. But in retrospect, I find this a cheap and tacky way to earn your money. The truffles cost a good bit, so I don't understand why would they make the shipping so darned high! And it's not even GOOD shipping, its the 3-5 day 'We'll get to it later...' shipping. And it took them 4 days to get the boxes out the door.
I will not be buying my truffles from this buyer again. Or probably anything, for that matter.
Edit: 5 days and they haven't shipped them yet...
Rating: - High markup on shipping, and a little too slick
I bought this product for my lady. The shipping rivaled the cost of the chocolates. I put up a review on Amazon saying so and guessing that there was a high markup on the shipping cost. I also spoke favorably of the truffles themselves. Within 48 hours Amazon sends me a note from the vendor saying that they "mistakenly" overcharged me for the shipping by close to $5.00 and that if I would take down my review they would refund me the difference. I figure I could live without the refund and my review should stand as it is 100% true.
I notice 3/28/2008 that my review of this product has vanished from the Amazon website. Was that a mistake too? I think it was.
This is the second time I am writing this review. This time; I gave it less stars. I say how much I was overcharged for shipping. I say that my review was erased. I wonder if the next time I should reproduce the email.
The option for consumers to rate and review products on Amazon is democracy in action. It is one of the best things about Amazon and one of the main reasons I prefer to buy on Amazon. Taking down a true review by a paying customer diminishes this very good customer service.
The truffles arrived on time and in good condition. My lady liked them.
Rating: - Delicious Taste, But Just Don't Flip the Box!
Yum, Yum Yum, flip and what ?! 18 gram of Hydrogenated vegetable oil (coconut and palm kernel oil) per every 4 pieces.....?!
Rating: - Pure Bliss
These are the best chocolate truffles I have had outside of Europe. They are rich and so smooth. I caught one of my nieces stuffing them into her mouth. I warned her they are so rich she would get a tummy ache if she had that many (about 4). And she did. The nice thing about really, really good chocolate like these is that you are more than satisfied with 1 or 2 pieces. Saves calories.
Rating: - Wonderful Gift Idea
This is a wonderful gift idea. The truffles have a light dusting of cocoa on the outside of them, chocolate on the inside and arrive fresh and of highest quality. These were purchased by me last year for a gift and were divinely rich - almost sinful!
